I went to see the play for two nights in a row. The first night, there was no Fantasia. The second night, we decided to stay, even though Fantasia was missing again! It was challenging to distinguish each player's voice due to the excessive talking. The singing was slightly better than average, but the acting was only mediocre. I despised the African dance segment, which dragged on for too long. There were numerous slow, unnecessary solos in songs that could have been more lively and upbeat. About a quarter of the way through, my husband and mother started complaining, but I was determined to watch until the end, initially excited about the play. Unfortunately, my husband and mother fell asleep shortly after the intermission, as did the woman behind us, whose male companion caught me glancing back to see who was snoring. I had high expectations for this event, so it's disappointing that it didn't meet them. I feel sorry for myself and sorry for the production itself.
